MESSAGE AND DEDICATION FROM
THE NRLCA AUXILIARY PRESIDENT

When I first stumbled upon this organization, my first thought was "Oh my goodness, I know so many people who could benefit from this."
As many people know, I have a very military family; my husband, Rick - Marines, my daddy - Navy, father-in-law Marines, oldest son - currently Marine Reserves and firefighter, youngest son Army, and our youngest baby girl currently serving as a firefighter in the Navy.
While serving decades apart, the one thing they all have in common is their dedication in service to their family and country. Now I have an extended family in the NRLCA. I have met so many carriers who also served in the military before becoming rural letter carriers. This is the reason I am dedicating this year's "Program of Patriotism" to our own Armed Forces Veterans Club of the NRLCA.
"The Hero Company" pairs shelter dogs and rescue dogs with veterans and first responders battling with PTSD.

After 911, many veterans returned home with serious trauma from war. PTSD drastically changed their lives and way too many have even taken their lives. With no VA funding for service animals, many cannot afford the cost of the trained dogs that they need.
The Hero Company funds service and companion animals for these veterans suffering from PTSD at ZERO cost to them.
I hope you will join me this year in raising funds for this very worthy company. I believe our rural carrier family can make a difference in the lives of these heroes.

There are several ways to support PAC. You can make a cash donation or you can volunteer your time. Also, you can donate a handmade item for auction. If you are not crafty, you can purchase a unique item to be raffled or auctioned. These are all ways to help support our spouses with their PAC.
